Netcad Base Docker Installation

This page describes the installation of Netcad Base with docker. It is a dependent component of NETIGMA. Note that if you've installed NETIGMA Bundle, then you do not need to run Base image.

1 - Prepare Configuration File

Required environment variables to build Base image are:

  • DC_BASE_APPHOST : The address of the host machine where Base applications will run. Default : localhost
  • DC_BASE_APPPORT : The port value of the Base applications will run. Default: 80
  • DC_BASE_DBCS: The connection string of the database that will be used by Base applications.


The container is created witihin the command line, with docker run command as follows:

docker run -e DC_BASE_APPHOST=<your hostname> -e DC_BASE_APPPORT=8082 -p 8082:8082 netigma/base:3.2.0
  • If the value of DC_BASE_APPPORT is different from 80, the same port values must be used with the DC_BASE_APPPORT value and the port specified in the -p parameter.
  • The specified port should be open and should not used by any other application on the host machine.

2 - Running and Test

After executing run command, you can open Base Authentication application (http://localhost:8082/Authentication/) on your browser. You will be redirected to login page, then log in to the application with the default user name and password.

Environment variables used by the Base image are listed below.

Environment variables that starts with DC_WEBCONFIG_ . e.g. DC_WEBCONFIG_LogManagerShowTrace, DC_WEBCONFIG_AuthCacheEnabled

These environment variables used for e.g. appSettings, that is in Netigma's web.config file. The setting value, after DC_WEBCONFIG_, the environment variable value is added to the web.config file of all Base applications as the setting value.



Using Existing Parameter Settings
