Environmental Impact Assessment

It is the graphical demonstration of Environmental Impacts on 3D Display of the detonation design specified from a source.

Using Data Catalog / Detonations / Detonation (added, right mouse click) / Environmental Impact Assessment command, you can open the form containing parameters of EIA.

 Air Cannon

Air Cannon is air pressure waves created with the detonation.

Impact type and Instantaneous charge amount are found according to the zone range specified as a result of the calculation carried out after detonation design.

OptionDescription
Instantaneous Charge

It is the amount of explosives fired in a delay time.

Active Zone RangeIt is the area of how far the calculation will be carried out and shown in 3D.

Calculations are carried out with Calculate button using these parameters.

 Noise

Gases that are product of reaction and that discharge quickly and early to outer atmosphere from rock fractures during detonation create significant noises. Shock waves, whose frequency is above 20 Hz can be heard and characterised as noises.

This section allows for noise calculations (dBA) to be carried out depending on distances given in Netpro/Mine.

OptionDescription
Max Distance from Source

It is the area of how far the calculation will be carried out and shown in 3D.

Distance Increment AmountIt is how much it will increment with given distance values.
Gravitation CoefficientIt is 1 for plain fields.

 Vibration (Ground Shaking)

Shock waves created as a result of detonation spread with a specific speed, frequency and magnitude within the rock unit as they do in the air and this is called ground shaking. This dissemination continues until energies of shock (seismic) waves are wasted (i.e. it shows a tendency to extinct as it moves away from the firing area).

The parameters that will be entered in this section allows for calculation towards the creation of active zones of ground shaking.

OptionDescription
Max Distance from Source

It is the area of how far the calculation will be carried out and shown in 3D.

Distance Increment AmountIt is how much it will increment with given distance values.

Vibration magnitude calculation, impact of vibration to nearby structures, particle (mass velocity calculation) is carried out depending on given distances when Calculate is clicked.

 Rock Dispersion

It is dispersion of some rocks during discharging of high pressure gases to early atmosphere created as a result of reaction unless the explosive is adequately constrained within rock mass during detonation.

It is enough to just click on "Calculate" for rock dispersion.

When all calculations for parameters are done, operation is approved by clicking Ok button at the bottom left.

When the operation is approved, surface must be chosen from 3D screen for graphical display. Drawings of active zones in 3D will be created after surface selection.

Environmental Impacts layer will be added under detonation and titles of active zones belonging to detonation will be kept under this layer. Users can transfer the active zones to Netcad 2D display by right clicking these titles.
